Before an update
Check the Floaty page for the published package and its matching requirements. Keep your current ZIP and a restorable site backup. Test the new release against your WordPress version, theme, page builder and other plugins on staging.
Use WordPress's supported plugin-update workflow for the package you receive. Do not assume an automatic WordPress.org update listing or release feed exists. If WordPress offers to replace an installed copy, verify the plugin and versions before approving it; avoid deleting the plugin as an update shortcut because deletion runs its uninstall cleanup.
After updating, save and review your settings, clear relevant caches, test each contact destination and check mobile placement, page rules, schedule and analytics.
Disable or remove
Deactivating Floaty stops the plugin from running. Deleting it through WordPress's Plugins screen invokes the supplied uninstall routine to remove its settings and analytics. Back up first if you may need those settings later.
Large multisite networks need their own reviewed removal procedure; this documentation does not claim that every network topology has been tested. For a failed update, use your WordPress backup and hosting recovery process rather than editing the production plugin blindly.
