Choose a layout

Open Floaty's Appearance tab. Use the toggle layout for a compact launcher that opens the channel list, or the expanded layout to expose the buttons directly. Choose left or right placement and adjust the offsets against your theme.

Set colours, labels, tooltips, shape and button size. The supplied size setting supports 40–90 pixels. Preview a real page with long labels and several channels before deciding on the final arrangement.

Add a greeting carefully

A greeting can appear after a delay. The optional automatic opening behaviour is limited by browser session state, so a greeting or auto-open can behave differently in a fresh browser session. Do not use automatic opening to cover checkout, accessibility controls or cookie choices.

Animations include pulse, shake and bounce; the supplied frontend also includes reduced-motion handling. Keep the result comfortable for visitors and check their device's motion preference.

Check placement

Save, clear relevant page caches and test a narrow mobile view. Check both portrait and landscape, scroll near the footer and open any consent banner or chat overlays. If another element covers Floaty, review the Z-index setting and test against that element rather than setting an arbitrarily large value.
