What you are installing
Desk is free, self-hosted PHP software with source included for support, enquiries, quotations and job applications. You host it on your own HTTPS domain with its own database. Customer requests, staff accounts, files and email settings belong to that installation.
Get the release
Choose Download Desk on the Desk product page. Sign in to Emaila Orbit, or create an account and verify your email. Return to the download after verification. Use the published release and its included installation guide; check its SHA-256 checksum against the published download details when provided.
Desk is free and does not require an Orbit product activation licence or a paid-licence cron job. Your hosting, email provider and any optional external services are configured separately.
The current ZIP has no root open-source licence file. Source availability does not establish an open-source licence; contact the publisher about licensing terms.
Two separate accounts
Your Orbit account gives you access to the download. During Desk setup you choose a new local owner account. That local owner manages Desk staff and permissions; the Orbit login does not sign anybody into your Desk or give access to its customer records.
A practical first test
- Check the host and install Desk.
- Configure a business, country, service and support form.
- Configure a test mailbox and confirm delivery.
- Submit a synthetic support request, reply as staff and verify the customer's return journey before inviting customers.
