Prepare before the product download

Use your verified Orbit account and the correct organisation to obtain the installation preparation kit from Product downloads. It contains the licence SDK and helper without Accounts application code. Run it on the intended host before downloading the bound product ZIP.

Use PHP 8.2+ CLI with cURL, JSON, POSIX and sodium, as the same Unix user that will run web PHP. Compare the kit's SHA-256 with Product downloads, then extract it into a private working directory. Open the extracted emaila-orbit-installation-kit/ directory. Terminal access or your host's help is required.

Replace EXACT_RELEASE_VERSION, the example domain and the absolute private-directory placeholder with your selected entitled release and settings:

php prepare-installation.php prepare multibrand-account EXACT_RELEASE_VERSION accounts.example.com /ABSOLUTE/PRIVATE/accounts-licence

Use a new absolute private directory outside the application and every web root. Its parent must already exist; the kit creates the final directory with private permissions. Copy only its public key and canonical domain into Orbit.

The Orbit account and the local administrator account you will create in Accounts remain separate. A purchase never grants access to your host or books.

Issue and use the setup code

Sign in to your verified Orbit account, choose the correct organisation in My organisations and open My licences. On the fulfilled MultiBrand Accounts entitlement for the exact release, choose Activate an installation and submit the displayed public key and domain.

Copy the complete ORBITSETUP1 setup code from the activation receipt. On the intended host, from the kit directory:

php prepare-installation.php activate /ABSOLUTE/PRIVATE/accounts-licence
php prepare-installation.php status /ABSOLUTE/PRIVATE/accounts-licence

Replace the directory with the one prepared earlier. Activation reads the code from standard input; follow the kit's private input instructions and keep it out of command arguments, URLs and shared logs. Status checks the real permission online.

Once activation succeeds, return to the organisation's Product downloads, choose that active installation and download the bound product ZIP. Compare its SHA-256 with Product downloads before extracting it.

A package download is not activation. An unpaid offline invoice does not fulfil a paid entitlement, and update rights do not replace a base product licence.

Preserve private files and schedule refresh

Before opening Accounts, configure web PHP and scheduled jobs with ORBIT_LICENSE_CONFIG pointing to the prepared directory's config.json. A terminal-only environment variable does not configure web PHP. Ask your host to set both contexts under the same Unix user.

Complete browser setup and reuse this identity. Do not choose a new-key preparation action. Protect the external directory and back it up with config/accounts.php, storage and the database. Existing installations should retain their original identity and use the matching recovery process.

Schedule bin/licence-check.php every minute as the website's PHP user and PHP version:

* * * * * /path/to/php /path/to/multibrandaccounts/bin/licence-check.php

Replace the paths. In a hosting Cron Jobs form, enter the five schedule values separately and paste only the command into its Command field. Mail and reconciliation workers are separate jobs.
