Supported evaluation target

Use a fresh disposable Ubuntu 24.04 LTS x86_64/amd64 VM with real systemd, enabled AppArmor and supported local ext4 storage. Containers are not the initial installation target.

The published preflight minimums are two CPU cores, 2 GiB RAM and 20 GiB free disk. They are minimum checks, not evidence of how many hosting accounts the server can support. Registered-UID byte/inode accounting, kernel enforcement and required cgroup controllers need their own qualification.

Arrange access and recovery

Retain a provider snapshot, console access and your existing authenticated root terminal. Use a normal non-root account to prepare downloaded packages. Keep root passwords and private SSH keys private; they are not support inputs.

Record the intended hostname, actual assigned network addresses, timezone and existing configuration. Use a dedicated test machine rather than installing over customer sites, another panel or unknown service files.

Check before changing anything

The protected install helper first produces a read-only machine/payload-bound plan. Missing dependencies, unsafe ownership, conflicting services, unsupported quotas or confinement failures must be resolved within the supported target. Do not disable AppArmor, clear an existing database or remove unrelated services to suppress a failed preflight.

Continue with the exact binary kit; a source ZIP alone is not a complete installer.
